Guess who went and managed to get herself a lovely dose of Covid-19?

Yes, the answer would be me. Mild they told me it was and I know in relation to people who've been on ventilators and those who've sadly passed, it was mild but I tell you it did not feel very mild. I don't think I've ever been quite so sick in my life

I've been in bed the last week, fever averaging just over 100, coughing like my life depended on with pain in my chest and shortness of breath. My head's been pounding, my whole body has ached from head to toe and I've had no energy. All in all a super fun experience and I wholeheartedly do not recommend it.

I'm actually out of bed today. I made it to my couch although I think that's going to be the extent of any strenuous activity for me. My legs were shaking by the time I sat down with my mug of coffee and I think I'm about ready to go back to sleep.

Plans for the day involve napping, hopefully watching some movies, reading and futzing about online.

I started writing this post last night but apparently fell asleep before finishing it and hitting post - so I'm just going to finish & post it now, 12 or so hours later than intended, but leave the time/date stamp as last night as that's when it was supposed to be posted and does specifically refer to Monday

As I've been exploring Dreamwidth this afternoon, I've found people posting about Music Monday and who doesn't love sharing and talking about the music they love?

And so my first Music Monday post will be:

Green Day - All By Myself/Dominated Love Slave

Dominated Love Slave remains one of my favourite Green Day songs. I think it's because the first time I heard it, it seemed so... random compared to the rest of their music I knew at the time. It also always makes me smile.

Most of you (not that there's more than like 2 people reading this at the moment but whatever) probably already know about/are participating in [personal profile] squidgiepdx's June Something. I've just discovered it and am looking forward to joining in. Question one, from 1st June, asks What's a new fandom that you've fallen into since the last June Something/in the last year?

I feel I should preface this by saying I don't get involved with the fanfiction side of things - I don't read or write it. It doesn't jive for me but I have nothing against it. Fandom for me is the state of getting extremeley excited about a new thing, wanting to immerse myself in and if I'd had a DW at the time, enthusiastically posting about it.

So, the new fandom for me in the last year or so has been Good Omens. The TV show, not the book. I read the book way back when but it never did it for me - neither Pratchett or Gaiman's writing styles jive with me. However I'm quite the fan of both David Tennant and Michael Sheen and I'd heard so many good things about the show that I put my reservations aside and watched it. And promptly fell in love and watched it a couple more times. Like most people, I absolutely adore the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale, especially loved all the snapshots of them throughout history and the way their friendship evolved. I can also completely see why many people see their relationship as romantic (which I do) and/or sexual.

I also love how much Sheen and Gaiman have embraced the fandom on social media, and encourage it as well. That's what it's about, in my mind, bringing like-minded people together and making us realise we're not alone.
